Vote for a new US Congress
This article about the 109th Congress is a rally cry for all Americans. Regardless of your party alignment, the 109th Congress should embarass you as an American. Countries have revolted and overthrown their governments for less. Support the US as founded, not what it has become today. Take back America. Vote for honesty and strong ethics regardless of political party.
One could go on and on about the scandals and failures of the past six years; to document them all would take . . . well, it would take more than ninety-three fucking days, that’s for sure. But you can boil the whole sordid mess down to a few basic concepts. Sloth. Greed. Abuse of power. Hatred of democracy. Government as a cheap backroom deal, finished in time for thirty-six holes of the world’s best golf. And brains too stupid to be ashamed of any of it. If we have learned nothing else in the Bush years, it’s that this Congress cannot be reformed. The only way to change it is to get rid of it.
Fortunately, we still get that chance once in a while.
Australian Gun Control Ineffective after 10 years
The introduction of Australia’s tough new gun laws in 1996 has done little to reduce the rate of gun murder or suicide.
The new laws – which were accompanied by a $500 million buyback of more than 600,000 guns – came after the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania, where 35 people were gunned down.
A study, prepared by Australian pro-gun lobbyists and published in the British Journal of Criminology, argues that the money spent on the buyback would have been better spent on a public health campaign.

Welcome.
This blog chronicles my opinions, experiences, news stories, and personal experiences in navigating the byzantine gun laws in the world today. I recently have started the process of getting my Licence To Carry in Massachusetts. This also involves a renewed learning curve of pistols, rifles, shotguns, and all of the details about the topic.
For the sake of clarity, my base premise is that gun control does nothing but limit legal rights to gun ownership. It does nothing to curb violence, reduce murder rates, or help reduce other nasty subjects attributed to gun ownership. If you are going to break the law with a firearm, you are not going to register it, get licensed, or even care about the gun laws.
The name “Felons for Gun Control” comes from a bumper sticker I remember seeing as a kid. I never understood it, until now.
