The Bias Against Guns
Thanks to Google Books, you can now read The Bias Against Guns: Why Almost Everything You’ve Heard about Gun Control Is Wrong
One step closer
I’m now fully in the system, just not the criminal way. Fingerprints, photos, and LTC/A application submitted. I meet the Chief in a few weeks.
Awesome
I’ve been waiting for this to happen. The parallels between V for Vendetta and the fight against a police state are too obvious to miss.
The nightmare continues…
Another excellent opinion piece on the state of our government. The 110th Congress will get around to doing all of the investigations the 109th Congress never did. This is gridlock.
Surveillance Society: UK
An article and opinion on a surveillance society. It’s happening in the US next. It has nothing to do with the Liberals. It has everything to do with the false dichotomy of “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.” I have everything to fear from a government with too much power and ability to probe my life without even telling me. If my life has to be transparent, so does theirs.
The Difference Two Years Made – NYT
A very good opinion piece from the New York Times about the continuing breakdown of the American Government. The problem isn’t one party in control of all three branches. The problem is the weak character and lack of ethics by those in each branch of government. As planned, the three branches should have a healthy distrust of one another. Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, or Independent vote for strong ethics. The US Govt is ridiculous.
These are not the reasons you are looking for…
I read this statement which seems to equate gun ownership to defense from terrorists. Wrong. Thankfully, others realize this mistake and commented. As a US Citizen, my largest fear should always be the US Government. This is why the Second Amendment of the US Constitution provides for gun ownership. The “well-regulated militia” is the US Populace in commonly accepted interpretations. Who is the most formidable terrorist organization today? Al Queda? Hezbollah? Israeli Army? US Govt? Guess which one is closest to me.
Vote for America
When American Conservative is recommending voting out the GOP, you know something is just wrong with America.
MA Gun Laws Suck!
Let’s go through this process. I have to answer 14 questions, 10 of which really matter. Any wrong answer, and I’m arrested for perjury. I don’t have access to view the info the local Police review. If I’m denied, I’m not told why. There is no recourse if I’m denied. I’m applying for Class A License to Carry for All Lawful Purposes. If I receive anything less, I’ll apparently like it and be appreciative to have anything.
I’m also now put into numerous government databases, fingerprinted, photographed, and basically treated like a criminal, just without the record. WTF.
Owning a gun is a right, not a privilege. This is ridiculous.
