Shooting at Appalachian School of Law
I’ll highlight the relevant paragraph for you (emphasis mine):
“Students subdued Odighizuwa
When Odighizuwa exited the building where the shooting took place, he was approached by two students with personal firearms.[4]
At the first sound of gunfire, fellow students Tracy Bridges and Mikael Gross, unbeknownst to each other, had run to their vehicles to grab their personal firearms.[5] Gross, a police officer with the Grifton Police Department in his home state of North Carolina, retrieved a bulletproof vest and a 9 mm handgun.[6] Bridges pulled his .357 Magnum pistol from beneath the driver’s seat of his Chevy Tahoe. As Bridges later told the Richmond Times Dispatch, he was prepared to shoot to kill.[7]
Bridges and Gross approached Odighizuwa from different angles, with Bridges yelling at Odighizuwa to drop his gun.[8] Odighizuwa then dropped his firearm and was subdued by a third student, Ted Besen, who was unarmed.[9] Once Odighizuwa was securely held down Gross went back to his vehicle and retrieved handcuffs to help hold Odighizuwa until police could arrive.
Police reports later noted there were two empty eight round magazines belonging to Odighizuwa’s handgun. When Odighizuwa dropped the gun, it still had three bullets in it.[10]“
Poor shots.
Is this why the cost of my ammo is rising? Jeez. 250,000 bullets per dead enemy. I wish I could tax the populace to buy ammo.
The Rising Tide
I couldn’t have said it better myself. When did America become a nation of frightened wimps?
Leadership in Government.
Lee Iococca is right. The average American needs to be upset about what is happening to America. Regardless of your party affiliation, corruption is bad. Power and dictatorial powers are bad. America needs to pull back and regroup. A little revolution now and then doesn’t hurt.
Intelligent Politicians
There’s an inherent problem with politicians. They won’t get elected if what they talk about is too far from their electing public. We all expect politicians to lie about their campaign promises. We all expect them to make decisions for us. The real problem is that people like Ron Paul may be exactly what we need. However, he’s not going to get elected because he’s too damn smart for the normal person to understand. Ron Paul makes perfect sense to me. I understand where he’s coming from. I understand the topics he discusses. The fiat monetary system and dropping Bretton Woods in 1971 I get. How many others get it?
I read a great article months ago about this situation. Originally, I was thinking of how it applies to everyday life. There’s one paragraph where they mention the gap in IQ between a leader and his followers generally is 30 points (on various scales) or less. This is the problem. The public, as a whole, isn’t smart enough to run the government. Until we migrate to a true democracy, like Switzerland, we have to elect people that we hope won’t screw it up too bad.
What we really need is an intelligent President. We need someone with strong ethics and moral constitution. Be a leader. Don’t decide based on polls or what the general populace thinks you should do. Lead the nation. This is the man I’ll vote for, not some party insider who merely does whatever is asked of him. Vote for a leader.
Elect this man: Ron Paul
The more I read and hear what Ron Paul has to say, the more I like it. I know the world is heading towards a global government. All of these world organizations; world bank, world trade organization, world health organization, etc are great to stay a member of for the long run. However, the current administration is a complete dictatorship waiting to happen. We need to get the USA back under control. Our government is out of control. It is feeding on power it granted itself; and we let it. If I could not pay taxes as protest, I would. However, making an armed stand over a protest at this point seems silly. I received a letter from my congressman the other day. He apologized for not being as effective as he could have been in the 109th “do nothing” congress. He’s a democrat. Apparently, he felt like the kid in the school yard bullied into submission. I grew up fighting bullies. Sure, I took lots of punches and teasing, but screw them. No one is going to force their will upon me. The least of which is the government I support with my taxes.
Vote out our current administration. It is corrupt. It knows no bounds. It’s going to kick and scream on the way out, like an angry child having a temper tantrum. Voting on party lines is for idiots. Vote with your brain. Do what is right for America.
