Intelligent Politicians
There’s an inherent problem with politicians. They won’t get elected if what they talk about is too far from their electing public. We all expect politicians to lie about their campaign promises. We all expect them to make decisions for us. The real problem is that people like Ron Paul may be exactly what we need. However, he’s not going to get elected because he’s too damn smart for the normal person to understand. Ron Paul makes perfect sense to me. I understand where he’s coming from. I understand the topics he discusses. The fiat monetary system and dropping Bretton Woods in 1971 I get. How many others get it?
I read a great article months ago about this situation. Originally, I was thinking of how it applies to everyday life. There’s one paragraph where they mention the gap in IQ between a leader and his followers generally is 30 points (on various scales) or less. This is the problem. The public, as a whole, isn’t smart enough to run the government. Until we migrate to a true democracy, like Switzerland, we have to elect people that we hope won’t screw it up too bad.
What we really need is an intelligent President. We need someone with strong ethics and moral constitution. Be a leader. Don’t decide based on polls or what the general populace thinks you should do. Lead the nation. This is the man I’ll vote for, not some party insider who merely does whatever is asked of him. Vote for a leader.
